Malcolm Fraser, MD, CMD, is a Board Certified Geriatrician. He lived and practiced in LTC in Florida from 1980 to 2010 and then moved to Boulder, CO (to be closer to the Grandkids in Denver) and completed his professional practice transition in 2012.

In 1990 he founded Bay Geriatrics which provides Consultative Services in Post Acute Care. From 1996-1999 he was Corporate Medical Director, LTC Physicians, Nashville, TN. From 1999-2003 he was Florida Regional Medical Director of Health Essentials of Louisville, KY. He also served as a Corporate Medical Director for Beverly Enterprises from 1992-1996.

He served as President of Florida Medical Directors Association Chairman, Board of Directors of FMDA and Chairman of the FMDA Industry Advisory Board 1993-2010. He is a past scientific reviewer for the Omnicare Formulary and has twice served on the PharMerica P&T Committee and was Corporate Medical Advisor to NCS HealthCare.

In 2008-11 he  was Principal/Co Investigators in several clinicaltrials.gov registered trials involving COPD and Chronic Idiopathic Constipation. He has presented multiple posters including “Surveying the Outcomes Of Lubiprostone” (STOOL) Pilot Study. This looked at the treatment of Chronic Idiopathic Constipation in a Geriatric population from both a clinical and regulatory perspective. The results of one study were published in JAMDA in June 2012 (Effect of cognitive Impairment on the use of the Diskus Inhaler). He has also studied and postered (at national meetings) strategies for the appropiate use  of Atypical Antipsychotics in NH Residents.

Since moving to Colorado, he has become increasingly involved in Long Term Care in the Denver Metroplex and as of July 2019 is Medical Director of about 900+ beds divided between 8 facilities, including the largest and 3rd largest NH’s in Colorado.
